As I’m coming into my senior year this fall, there seems to be one thing running through almost all of my friends’ minds, but not mine. While it’s a sweet and catchy sentiment, “ring before spring”, couldn’t be further from what I want post graduation. Growing up in a smaller Southern town, my Instagram feed has been overtaken by proposal announcements and wedding photos. Although getting married in my early twenties has never been my goal, seeing these posts has made me wonder at times if I’m “behind.” Now that I’m out of the confining areas of Augusta, Georgia, my new, beautifully diverse Florida city has me feeling like I’m right where I need to be in life.
